Classic Alfa offer this 1969 right-hand drive roundtail Spider project. It is the most desirable 1750 Veloce model. Less than 500 of these 1750 Spiders were made / sold worldwide.
We bought it some years ago as just a rolling body shell that had been partly restored and then all the parts had been lost / stolen. We finally found a donor car that was beyond restoration to donate all the necessary parts.
We have the windscreen and hoodframe even though they aren't in the photos and we have a 1750 engine and gearbox needing rebuild included in this auction. The project is therefore fundamentally complete but we cannot vouch that every little part is there.
It can be viewed at our storage unit near Hickstead services on the A23 in Sussex (10 miles north of Brighton). The rolling shell is currently on an earlier Duetto Dunlop rear axle but we will exchange this for the correct axle once the successful bidder has won the car and removed it from the shell. It currently has the rare, period 1750 option alloy wheels but we can supply a set of steel wheels instead if you prefer.
The body shell has been repaired / restored in a strange way - the outer panels have been repaired (to an average / ok standard) and then painted but the floors have not yet been tackled!
Please note the car has some damage on the nearside inner wing but we are supplying with the car an original Alfa panel to repair it. Also, there is no registration document or number plate so the car will need to be re-registered with DVLA.
If you wish to view the car & parts please call Richard Norris on 020 8688 4443 (office hours).
