1966 SPRINT GT VELOCE £60,000

For sale - Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce 1966 - Step Front

Apart from a GTA, the Sprint GT Veloce is considered by most Alfa enthusiasts to be the most sought after 105 coupe, there are only 14 registered in the UK. Approximately 1,400 RHD cars were manufactured from 1965 to 1968 for the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Japan, Cyprus and South Africa markets.

The car is a very rare survivor that has not been messed with to create a GTA ‘Corsa’ or ‘Stradale’ replica. I purchased the car in Cyprus in 2014 and imported it to the UK, I believe it to be one of only a handful of Sprint Veloces that were manufactured for the Cypriot market. This car has not been exposed to either British winter (road salt) or South African road surfaces…

During my ownership, I have spent a great deal of money and time trying to retain originality. Where parts had to be replaced, there were either the original off the car I had refurbished, NOS or I sourced used parts that I had refurbished.

The engine is the correct numbered 00536 block and the carburettors are the correct Weber DCOE 27’s.

The engine and carburettors were rebuilt from scratch by renowned engine builder Andy Cattani (Classic & Race). All the other work Gearbox rebuild, Suspension, Brakes (original Dunlop), Steering Box refurbishment etc. was carried out by Andrew Thorogood, a classic Alfa and Lancia authority that is the go-to person for many leading names in the industry.

The car was subject to a respray in Cyprus a few years before I bought it, although it was a good finish I have had the paintwork flat and polished.
