After two weeks of non-stop rain the skies cleared just in time for our first open day and the sun shone for most of the day
This meant that it wasn't just the hard-core daily-use Alfas that showed up but also some fantastic Giulietta models and some Spiders with their tops down.
By the time the last cars left at 6pm we had been visited by more than 40 Alfas and 60 Alfisti.
Attendees came from far and wide ranging from local Londoners to customers from Wiltshire and Warwickshire. We even had a visit from a surgeon from Pakistan whose car collection in Lahore includes a 2000 GTV and a 2600 Spider.
Customers took the opportunity to browse the shelves of the new and used parts warehouses and to check out our various project cars, bodyshells and our intriguing, newly restored cut-away Nord engine and gearbox.
We were fortunate to be visited by nine 101 and 105 Series Alfa specialists and it was a great opportunity for the other visitors to discuss with them their cars and how to improve them.
In light of the success of the open day we are planning to run a similar day next year. Keep an eye on our website for details of this and other events, like our 2011 Goodwood Trackday on Saturday 11th June.
