BURMAN Modern Upgraded Steering Box

This fully redeveloped steering box has been engineered from the ground up using modern manufacturing techniques and materials to deliver improved durability, reliability, and performance.

Key improvements include the integration of sealed bearings for smoother operation and reduced maintenance requirements. The housing wall thickness has been increased,  providing significantly greater strength and rigidity compared to original designs.

The bottom bush has been completely redesigned to enhance support, improve longevity, and ensure more precise steering control. Every component has been developed around current engineering standards while maintaining compatibility with the original application.

For ease of maintenance and fine-tuning, steering play can be adjusted from the top of the unit with a simple turn of an adjustment screw, allowing quick and accurate setup without disassembly. We advise this to be carried out by a professional who understands these cars and steering boxes. This steering box is an ideal upgrade whether for road or track use.

For optimum performance and lubrication, we recommend the use of SAE 90 gear oil.

Available Sizes

This steering box is available in three different lengths. Please measure your existing steering box and select the correct length from the drop-down menu when ordering. You will also need to select whether you require a Right-Hand Drive (RHD) or Left-Hand Drive (LHD) version.

RHD version will be available early October 2026.

Exchange Programme

95% of the steering box is brand new. However one internal part gets reused & re engineered from an old steering box, of which we would like back. To support the continued availability of quality steering box components, we offer a £300 exchange allowance (which is included in the price)  for your old steering box. The returned unit must be supplied without the steering column and we will take it even if the case is cracked. We can help with arranging collection from your country.
